Nearly a week following the devastating hurricane pummelled into the island's west coast with record force, people in damaged neighborhoods along the coast are continuing to hope for assistance.

The government said on Saturday that no fewer than 28 individuals in Jamaica have died since the hurricane hit as a powerful maximum-level cyclone with winds reaching 185 mph.

Of his farm, he said: "It's all wrecked. Total ruin resulted" But he promptly continued: "We must express gratitude for survival"
