The Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on the Astrological Sign

The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. From the gradual reveal of fresh additions ahead of the game's launch, to trainers developing strong opinions on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.

With many of the Super Forms showcasing unique designs that highlight their traits, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is based on a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why the Ram much more similar to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Remain on the good side of either and benefit from a strong partner; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.

Taurus – Super Heracross

Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, both in its standard and Mega form, has assisted numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Bull are also battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will defend their side unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for treats. Several previous official descriptions mention their craving for sweet tree sap and how it employs its horn to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.

Gemini – Mega Medicham

Look at this absolute queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless fountain of chatter to those who wish to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's very simple to imagine Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its capacity to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Gemini.

Cancer – Super Manectric

Cancer is widely regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol known for frequently getting wrapped up in their feelings. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. It is also known for its ability to create a storm cloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

Leo – Mega Starmie

Oh, did you think I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, The Lion is obviously Mega Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Players were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s exactly the identical vibe a Leo offers to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a performance, even if for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Mega Victreebel

The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is strongly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a 401(k), to its inverted face that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo sends to the group chat when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a strategy.

Libra – Super Audino

Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how people are emotionally by their pulse. Always empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Scales who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would probably just cause them to worry even more about others.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through pure resentment and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpion loves karma and comeuppance, making them the ideal match with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Both Mega Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a show. As a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its description even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That exudes the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to always believe they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to join the beginning of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure

Detached air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being unpredictable accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame category fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s description says it “draws in hatred and converts it into power.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
