I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
