Brian Eno Encourages Support to Propel Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.
A campaign is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.
A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.
“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”
Defiant Message of Self-Determination
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup
The single was laid down following a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.
The impressive roster of artists featured on Lullaby includes a range of acclaimed names from the scene. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was produced by a group of music creators. The song showcases a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.
The organizers behind the project have stated that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an established charity.
“There is no a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”
The context in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of property described as levelled or seriously harmed.
“Given that reality, a few million won't make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily raising awareness for this issue and proving that another narrative exists.”
The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
