Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
